Remodel: It just keeps going...

I feel gross.  My stomach has been bothering me constantly (crappy foods).  I feel lethargic and tired (lack of sleep and exercise).  I feel like I'm not me!  The Get Back to Normal plan starts today.  My goals for today are to run, drink my water, and clean out the fridge.  I started on the refridgerator last night so that is already in motion.  My water has been terrible!  But I have my bottle here ready to go!  As for the run, I'm hoping to get it in...

I thought we would already be done moving and have the cats moved.  We literally have only a handful of things to move and we are done!!!  We also have to put more nail caps on Spooky who is a big meanie.  We could only get 9 on her last night.  They are at least still stuck!

The kittens lost a few back paw ones but I think thats because they didn't have enough glue or weren't dry yet.  They are easy to put on them, they just lay there cuddling and purring.  Anyway, as soon as that is done, we can move them, their food, and their kitty litter.  Then we have to spend time with them so they cope with the move well.  Of course, the new place isn't very comfortable since stuff is just everywhere but the cats can deal!  So that is what it looks like I'll be doing tonight.

So you can see why I'd be concerned about getting the run in.  Still lots to do!  Rob went to the storage unit yesterday though and picked up our couch and kitchen table along with some other things.  I forgot about half the stuff he brought!  Wow!  Can't wait to decorate and unpack everything!!!  First, we have to deal with the nightmare that is my clothing.  I have a ton!  And shoes?  Let's not even go there.  I have at least 2 dozen pairs (probably upwards of 3 or 4 dozen!).  Where am I going to put them all?!

Anyway!  Enough babbling today.  I am going to end with the chickens and babies since they are so cute.  We had another one hatch but it didn't make it.  They are so fragile!

Have a great Thursday!!!

Babies Babies Everywhere

We have more chicks!  That's right, our mama hens are hatching their own eggs.  They all just want to be mommies!  The first hen didn't do very well and only got 1 chick out of the whole batch and it is doing great:

It already has lots of feathers!  The latest mama hen has 4 chicks already and she is still sitting on her eggs a bit!  We'll see now because she might be done with the eggs.  She is such a better mommy already too.  The other hen was very hazardous, accidently kicking the baby and stuff.  This hen is much more gentle.

They are just so much fun to watch too.  I love how the hens just sit there while the chicks run in and out of their feathers.  See the little legs under the red hen in the above picture?  The little puff of white peaking out?  So adorable!!!  Anyway, I will let you know if we get any more.  I love letting the hens hatch their own eggs!  Of course, I can't even tell you how many chickens we have now because I lost count.  Oy, maybe we need to stop having baby chicks!

Cookies & Chickens

It hasn't really rained here lately.  I'm having a party today that I wanted to do outside on the lawn.  What do you know, its raining today.  Bah!  LoL.  Anyway, I am having friends over tonight.  We had some very brown bananas in the house so I decided to look up some recipes on SparkRecipes.com.  I found a recipe for Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Don't they sound amazing?!  Easiest recipe ever too so I got to baking!

I am making a funny face in that picture because I started to talk but I wanted to show you my apron I made last year and I just thought I looked cute despite the weird look :)  Haha!  Don't the cookies just look amazing?!  I just have veggies and fruit for the party tonight with hummus and olives and these cookies.  The basics!

I spent some time outside yesterday with the chickens too.  The babies are so cute!

They climb all under the mama hen for protection.  It is adorable to watch them just climb all over and around her.  She wasn't too happy with me being there with the camera though but she stayed there long enough for these.  Rob let the other chickens out too so I got some good pictures of them.  There are more on my picture website here so go check them out!

Harry Potter Sadness & Chicken Pictures!

I'm so sad!  Harry Potter is over!!  Friday night, Rob and I decided to do an impromptu date night.  We decided on dinner and a movie.  I've been dying to see Harry Potter and we had gift cards for the movies so off we went!  We decided to get burgers at Red Robin since its right by the theater and we haven't been there in a while (and its cheap!)

The movie was awesome!  I am seriously sad there won't be any more.  I can't wait to have them all on DVD!  Movie marathon at my place!!  LoL, anyway, after the movie, we decided to walk over to the FroYo place that recently opened and get a quick treat.  It looked like it was going to storm and on the way back to the car, it was crazy windy.  We just made it into the car before the downpour started!

It was definitely a nice night out with the hubs!  It was kind of like a last hoorah too since this month will be all about a tight budget!

The rest of the weekend was crazy busy and I don't know where the time went.  Barbecue on Saturday and then out to see a friend's band play at a bar.  Good times!  Sunday was very low key.  We moved our broody hen (in case you missed the news, she hatched an egg!) into a little pen for just her and the baby chicks (if we get any more).  Other than that, it was a nice relaxing weekend!  And to end, pictures of the chickens.  I got some regular shots with my little pocket camera but also got some really good shots with my Olympus 500.  Love my camera!

I know, its not chickens but these were delicious!  Ate them like a piece of fruit... Which they are...

Breaking News at the Chicken Scoop!  One of the eggs that the broody hens have been sitting on has hatched!
Bottom Right - doesn't look like Mommy Hen because it might not actually be hers!  Communal eggs here, lol

A Bouquet of Newly Sharpened Pencils

First off, how do you like the new Chicken Scoop design?  I made the background myself!!  On to my day...

For a work day, yesterday was just jam packed!  I started my day off right...

I am a member of the rewards program at both Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks.  I can't tell you how many free drinks I've gotten at Starbucks.  These are my first ones from DD!  Yay!!  I had a delicious iced coffee with chocolate.  Yum!  Calories weren't too bad either at 120!

Anyway, I spent my day limping around the office.  The arch of my left food hurts.  I know I know, people automatically say "plantar fasciitis" but I read online that that is an overall pain whereas mine is localized.  Who knows.  What I do know is that its all about rest, rubbing, and ice.  Of course, I forgot to ice it last night.  I promise to do it tonight!

Anyway, I got home from work and had lots to do.  I checked on my garden and the chickens:

Rob and I shared the strawberries.  I left the tomato to ripen a little bit more!  Rob also brought home a whole bag of tomatoes.  He works for the city and sometimes residents give the guys "tips" in the form of money or other things.  Fresh tomatoes from her garden works for me!
Rob also made dinner last night.  Well, I made the veggies in the microwave and I made the fresh pesto with basil from the garden so I guess we split it.  He grilled the salmon.  It was delicious!

We decided to head out for some errands.  I'll let you guess what for...
Need another hint?

Still no??

That should be a dead giveaway!  School supplies!!  So I still haven't gotten the letter in the mail exactly but I emailed the director.  She said that I was "recommended for admission" and that they are waiting for the admissions office to get the letter back to them.  So to me, that sounds like they are just waiting on paper work.  So I'll assume I'll be good for the fall!  Woohoo!  I hate this whole limbo thing though.  Retail therapy is awesome, especially on useful things I will need anyway.

Before heading home, we decided to get a little treat.  Custard Castle!!  I think this was the first time I didn't get custard there ever and I was disappointed.  Of course!  I should just stick to the usual next time although this was pretty good, it was a little freezer burned and it just wasn't vanilla custard...

I am still excited to hear from the school that everything is official.  Until then, I have to brush up on my math and physics.  I might have to make a goal for next month for that.  This month's goals, I haven't even looked at!  Maybe later today I will examine how they are going.  I forgot what half of them were!  Ha!  Oh, as for a workout yesterday, I ended up not having time.  HUGE excuse.  LoL.  Really, my foot felt better later but I didn't want to hurt it running.  We didn't get back to the house until 8ish.  My decision was to workout, shower, then bed or spend time with the hubs.  Rob always wins :)

PS.  Anyone get the movie quote in the title??
